Fado Festival comes to infuse the city with a taste of Lisbon’s most emblematic music! From September 29th to 30th Barts will showcase two of the most prominent performers of the Portuguese Fado music scene.

Created in the second half of the 19th century in Lisbon, Fado has become the song of Portugal. Lisbon, its river and the daily life of its historic neighborhoods, constitute the inevitable backdrop of the poetic repertoires of Fado, a soundtrack that is ontologically confused with the history of the city itself.

On September 29th Carminho will perform. The daughter of the renowned fado singer Teresa Siqueira, she began to sing the music of Fado in public at the age of twelve. Following much success, she has released five Fado albums to date. On September 30th Fábia Rebordão wil take the stage. Another of the leading voices of Fado, he will perform music from his acclaimed repertoire.
