Rumba, tapas and tinto de verano make a very convincing case for coming out on Saturdays this August. Fritanga! turns the tardeo into a weekly celebration with live bands, DJs, food and cocktails.

What is ‘fritanga’ you ask? It refers to a generous spread of fried food, usually the kind that’s perfect for sharing and picking at with a few drinks. And you can expect that same spirit here. Add rumba, mojitos and sunset, and you’ve got the perfect Barcelona summer party.

The programme brings together some of Barcelona’s liveliest rumba acts, including Tumbalotó, Set de Rumba, David Canal Quinteto, Alma de Boquerón and the brilliantly named Piratas Rumbversions. DJs Txarly Brown, Morocha Selector, Radio Mandango and Txarnego will keep things going before and after the concerts, stretching the event later into the evening.
