Portuguese double bassist and composer Gonçalo Feijão brings a looser, warmer and far more cosmopolitan take on jazz to the stage at Jamboree. He’s in Lisbon’s fado scene where he regularly performs in the city’s most renowned fado venues. As the resident double bassist at Senhora do Fado - one of the city’s leading venues - he’s shared the stage with both legends of the genre and emerging figures from the new generation.
His debut album, Thyra, gathers an international crew, with Swedish guitarist Albin Ormegård, Swiss drummer Jo Mayasi and Polish saxophonist Piotr Banás joining him on stage. The gig will bring a range of moods, unexpected detours and the live chemistry.
This is one for anyone who likes to explore new sounds on the international jazz scene. Tickets cost 16 Euros and doors open at 7pm.
