Handsome Dick Manitoba
By Kit Macdonald

Handsome Dick Manitoba, legendary frontman of The Dictators, CBGBs fixture, radio host and East Village bar owner, turned 70 last year, which may lead some to worry that the punk-rock spirit may not be coursing through his veins with quite the same vibrancy as it used to. This is a concern he is keen to scotch in the promotional materials for this tour - his first visit to Spain in more than a decade. To wit: "Handsome Dick is still faster and swifter than a speeding bullet, stronger than a locomotive, can reach tall buildings in a single bound and bend steel with his bare body – and hands.
"That's that worry put to bed then, and leaves the legions of fans he has around these parts free to enjoy his new stage show, which he'll be undertaking with an entirely new backing band consisting of Craig Behrhorst (Ruffians, ex-Two Bit Thief), Michael Butler (ex-Exodus and ex-JetBoy) Frank Meyer (Fear, Street Walkin' Cheetahs and Trading Aces) and Scotty Slam (ex- Circus of Power and The Stoning).
