The Spanish rock band Lagartija Nick began in Granada at the start of the 1990s, formed by singer-bassist Antonio Arias, guitarist Juan Codorniú, guitarist Miguel Ángel Pareja and drummer Eric Jiménez. Their debut album, Hipnosis (1991), marked their early punk-rock roots, while their follow-up, Inercia (1992), cemented their place in Spain’s rock scene.

In 1996, they took a bold turn with the album Omega - a collaboration with flamenco legend Enrique Morente. That daring mix of rock, flamenco and poetry (drawing on works by Federico García Lorca and echoing the tone of Leonard Cohen) redefined what Spanish rock could be. Over the decades they never stopped reinventing themselves: from experimental rock to industrial, with albums like Val del Omar (1998) to more recent works such as El Perro Andaluz (2022), inspired by surrealist cinema.

They now celebrate 35 years with a new live album - catch them performing it live at Sala Apolo.
