Winner of the 2025 AMJM Young Talent Award, saxophonist and composer Lucas Martínez brings his latest project, Traces of Memory, to the stage. A deeply personal project, he says “in the same way that revisiting a photo album fosters memories, Traces of Memory is my own sound album of experiences and memories”.
Despite his young age, he’s already built up an impressive international reputation. One of the most in-demand jazz musicians in both Spain and the Netherlands, he’s recorded over 50 albums and performed at major festivals in 23 countries worldwide. His music reflects his passion for storytelling through sound, and draws on a range of influences while staying rooted in the emotions of jazz.
Backed by a stellar trio - Roger Santacana on piano, Giuseppe Campisi on double bass, and Lluís Naval on drums - Lucas uses his music to bridge generations, cultures and perspectives.
