Slovenian cellist Luka Šulić, best known as one half of the globally acclaimed duo 2CELLOS, is set to perform at Paral·lel 62. He rose to fame through his personal cello renditions of chart hits, and these interpretations have helped redefine the boundaries of classical and contemporary music.
Šulić was immersed in music from a young age, guided by his cellist father. He became one of the youngest students at the Music Academy in Zagreb, graduating at 18, and further honed his craft in Vienna and at London's Royal Academy of Music. His career skyrocketed with 2CELLOS, especially after their viral rendition of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" in 2011. The duo's success led to collaborations with artists like Elton John and appearances on major TV shows.
In recent years, Šulić has focused on solo projects, releasing albums such as Vivaldi: The Four Seasons (2019) and his latest work, Life (2024).
