Micah Shemaiah is a roots reggae singer and songwriter born and raised in Kingston who is rightly celebrated for his spiritually conscious lyrics and reverence for classic reggae traditions. Shemaiah grew up immersed in the sounds of canonical artists such as Dennis Brown and Bob Marley, influences that shaped his melodic vocal style and message-driven songwriting.

Shemaiah’s live shows are unsurprisingly rooted in traditional reggae performance values: warm, band-led and spiritually focused, with a strong thread of Rastafarian and social-justice messages running through the performance and songs framed as reflections on spirituality, unity and contemporary issues. Azadi Soundsystem, Otorongo and DJ Germinal will also help to set what is likely to be one of the more warming and cocoon-like vibes available on the city's February events schedule.
