Myriam Gendron
By Charlotte Stace

Canadian singer-songwriter Myriam Gendron brings her folk music to El Molino this weekend. Originally from Montreal, her music fuses folk tradition with avant-garde elements to create a unique sound. Known for setting the words of renowned poets to melody, the singer’s work is intimate yet powerful, and over the years she’s earned herself a reputation as a distinctive voice in modern folk music.
Gendron’s breakthrough came with Not So Deep as a Well (2014), an album that set Dorothy Parker’s poetry to song, earning widespread acclaim for its raw and unembellished beauty. Her latest release, Ma délire – Songs of Love, Lost & Found (2021), expands on this approach, drawing from French, English and North American folk traditions.
Now, coming to Barcelona, she offers a rare opportunity to experience her spellbinding music live.
