Nubya Garcia
By Charlotte Stace

Nubya Garcia is one of the most influential forces in the British jazz resurgence. An accomplished saxophonist, her music weaves together influences from across the globe.
Over the past five years, she has been helping to redefine the genre, collaborating with leading figures like Shabaka Hutchings, Nala Sinephro and Moses Boyd, all while forging her own unique voice. Her Mercury Prize-nominated debut, SOURCE (2020), blended jazz with dub, cumbia, R&B and neo-classical elements.
Now, with her latest album Odyssey (2024), she is expanding her sound even further. Her ability to move seamlessly between tradition and experimentation has made her a unique songwriter and sought-after performer (so much so that she recently opened for Khruangbin on the US leg of their tour). Whether on stage or in the studio, she continues to push boundaries and be as innovative as possible. You won’t want to miss her live.
