French singer-songwriter and producer Marylou Vanina Mayniel, better known by her stage name Oklou, has announced her highly anticipated debut album, choke enough (2025). To celebrate, she will present the album live at Sala Apolo as part of the Caprichos de Apolo series.
Accompanying the announcement is the title track, “choke enough”, which embodies the album’s exploration of longing and quest for meaning: the need to be moved, whether by a profound revelation or a fleeting everyday moment. This album follows the musician’s debut mixtape Galore which was released in 2020.
Blending ambient textures with minimal club rhythms, the record is filled with delicate synthesiser arpeggios with found sound samples. The result? A warm and immersive soundscape. Through this production, Oklou meditates on the impermanence of existence and the delicate balance between creating and simply being.
