Open Air Dark Disco Riders with Fabrizio Mammarella
By Kit Macdonald
With a two-decade career as a DJ and producer, head of the Italian electronic music-focused Slow Motion Music/Wrong Era label, and founder of the Italorama night (which is exactly as the name suggests) at Panorama Bar in Berlin, Fabrizio Mammarella has devoted his life to Italian disco and house. Infectious grooves, analog synths and a sound that manages to be retro and forward-thinking at the same time are Mammarella's stock-in-trade, and he does it as well as anyone out there. His blissed-out grooves will be the perfect soundtrack to late-summer evening at La Terrrazza, as will those of the stellar support bill.
NYC's answer to Mammarella, Facets is the founder of Samo Records, a renowned DJ and re-edits producer and a central figure in the synth/italo collective Italomatic. Diego Montiel is a pivotal figure in Barcelona’s electronic scene as the founder of Side Up Works and the SUW parties. There's also a b2b set from the Argentinian DJ Jessica Bellomo and the seasoned Barcelona selector John Justicia, and the emerging Italian DJ Jiuli.bit completes a dizzyingly strong line-up worth getting down early to enjoy in full.
