New York's Yullola is a fascinating multi-disciplinary artist whose performances make use of her voice and her skills as a dancer to create dreamy, devotional atmospheres and an aural experience that “sounds like it was composed by an alien priestess in a secret temple in another dimension”, as one memorable bit of press put it.

Yullola trained early in classical Hindustani music and sang in a gospel choir, and this diverse religious and musical upbringing – she attended Catholic school by day and lived with Hindu family practices at home – permeates every note of her music, which is rife with devotional tones, vocal trills and ethereal instrumentation. Her recent Strange Serenity album completes a trilogy that also includes Monastery of Love from 2023 and Zen Maiden from last year. All three are recommended listening before this show at Casa Montjuic, which will start promptly at 9pm.
