Pegatina at Les Enfants pres. Legowelt live
By Kit Macdonald
Since the late 90s, the Dutch producer Danny Wolfers, aka Legowelt, has carved out a reputation as one of the most single-minded artists in electronic music, operating completely apart from trends and fashion, beavering away in his very analogue studio in The Hague. We sadly don't have space to describe the sound of the more than 40 different aliases under which Wolfers has released music, but as Legowelt he makes music we call Dutch West Coast electro and he calls "a hybrid form of slam jack combined with deep Chicago house, romantic ghetto technofunk and EuroHorror Soundtrack". Wolfers' live show is one of the truly essential experiences in electronic music and we recommend dropping everything to see him.
Support comes from Javier Carballo, a vastly experienced house, electro, breaks and techno selector originally from the Canary Islands. Third-release tickets are currently on sale for €20, and early-entry (before 1am) briefs are still available for €5.50, both from Resident Advisor.
