Ponto de Equilíbrio have been flying the flag for Brazilian reggae since forming in Rio de Janeiro’s Vila Isabel neighbourhood in 1999. What began with shows in bars and on beaches grew into one of Brazil’s most respected reggae bands, blending roots reggae with dub, samba and traditional Brazilian influences.

Their breakthrough record, Reggae a Vida Com Amor (2006), introduced some of their most well-known tracks like “Aonde Vai Chegar (Coisa Feia)” and “Árvore do Reggae”. Albums such as Abre a Janela (2007) and Dia Após Dia Lutando (2013) broadened their sound, while later releases Essa É a Nossa Música (2016), Ponto & Amigos (2017) and 2023’s Toque de Amor continued a repertoire built around love, equality, spirituality and social justice.
