Puccini's La Bohème
By Charlotte Stace
Palau de la Musica invites you to two performances of Puccini’s La Bohème, performed by the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès & Gil de Tejada.
This Italian opera premiered in 1896 and is set in early 19th century Paris. It follows a group of young, struggling artists - most notably the poet Rodolfo and seamstress Mimì - whose love blooms but is tragically cut short by Mimì’s illness. The opera’s emotional depth is enhanced by Puccini’s lyrical score, blending tender romance with moments of humour and despair. With memorable arias like "Che gelida manina" and "Sì, mi chiamano Mimì," La Bohème is a timeless exploration of love, loss and the bohemian spirit, making it one of the most performed operas worldwide.
Starring Berna Perles as Mimì, and Kenneth Tarver as Rodolfo. Tickets on sale now.
