Resilience Samba Jazz & Collective
By Charlotte Stace

Trumpeter and composer Estefane Santos brings Brazilian swing to the stage with contemporary jazz in Resilience Samba Jazz & Collective, a Barcelona-born quintet built on bold improvisation, intricate arrangements and the incredible language of Afro-Brazilian music. Formed in 2024, the group debuted at Jamboree before developing a growing presence between Europe and Brazil.
Santos leads tenor sax, piano, double bass and drums through original compositions created for her Resilience - Samba Jazz project. The sound moves between samba, modern acoustic jazz and Brazil’s rhythmic traditions.
Importantly, there’s a wider purpose behind their music, too. The project foregrounds Black women in instrumental music while exploring identity and contemporary Brazilian jazz from a fresh angle. Head over to Jamboree and make sure to catch them performing live. Tickets cost 15 Euros.
