The Russian indie alt-pop ensemble SBP4 (also known as Samoe Bolshoe Prostoe Chislo) comes to perform at La Nau. Known for their fusion of electro, dreampop and groove, they’ve gained a dedicated following among Russian-speaking communities globally, and are now breaking through into other cultures.

Formed in 2006 in Saint Petersburg, SBP4 (meaning “The Biggest Prime Number”) quickly rose to prominence within Russia’s alternative music scene. Their lyrics, often socially observant, are paired with sharp electronic production and experimental sounds. To date they’ve released 17 studio albums - yet all with Russian names, so very hard to write or pronounce. Yet, you don’t need to know Russian to like their music. It’s instantly enjoyable and features heavily on my soundtrack to summer this year.

The band, comprising Stas, Zhenya, and Kirill, will come to play music from their latest album as part of their European ‘Wild Tour’ - a great opportunity to check them out.
