Stacey Kent
By Charlotte Stace

Born in New Jersey, Stacey Kent studied comparative literature before moving to London and shifting her focus fully into music. Her repertoire spans the Great American Songbook, French chansons and Brazilian bossa nova with seamless ease. She sings in multiple languages and moves between her own music and originals with a refined touch.
Acclaimed albums such as Breakfast on the Morning Tram (2007) and I Know I Dream: The Orchestral Sessions (2017) showcase her abilities. One reviewer called her “an unusual power to hold your attention and control your emotions from the first note.” Whether it’s a whispered ballad in French or a Brazilian groove, her performance always feels crafted, personal and timeless.
With over two million records sold, hundreds of millions of streams and a globally acclaimed career, she returns to El Molino accompanied by her saxophonist husband Jim Tomlinson and pianist Art Hirahara to present her latest record, Songs From Other Places (2021).
