The Aristocrats
By Charlotte Stace

The Aristocrats are an instrumental trio made up of Guthrie Govan on guitar, Bryan Beller on bass and Marco Minnemann on drums. Formed in 2011 after a one-off NAMM jam clicked unexpectedly well, they’ve since built a reputation as one of the most technically formidable and entertaining acts in rock-fusion.
They describe themselves as “musically original” and “refreshingly irreverent,” which feels right for a group whose sound pulls from jazz fusion, progressive and instrumental rock. Over the years they’ve released albums including The Aristocrats (2011), Culture Clash (2013), Tres Caballeros (2015), You Know What...? (2019) and, most recently, Duck (2024).
Duck, their fifth studio album, is a fun concept work that tells the story of a duck escaping from a remote Antarctic island to New York City, while being chased by a relentless penguin police officer. Whether you’re a long-term fan or discovering them for the first time, this is the perfect chance to catch them live.
