For the prog rock aficionados out there, Sala Apolo brings its hugely popular event The Great Progressive Rock Show back for another round.
If you like the sounds of classic progressive rock bands such as Genesis, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Rush, and PFM, then this event is for you. Prog rock primarily developed in the UK throughout the 1960s and peaked in the early 1970s. In true avant-garde style, the genre came to being with psychedelic bands who abandoned standard pop traditions in favour of instrumentation and compositional techniques. It was an instant hit and produced some of the greatest musicians the world has seen.
A celebration of this musical style, this event brings the masterpieces of prog rock alive for one night. They’ll be performed by some of the city’s best musicians who come together to pay tribute to the legends of this genre.
