L’Auditori brings its new family show Toy Box to the city this winter. Based on Claude Debussy’s music for the ballet La boîte à joujoux (“The Toy Box”), it will be performed by the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra (OBC).
The melodies of French composers Georges Bizet and Stravinsky, along with Catalan composer Frederic Mompou, join Debussy to depict the music and sounds of childhood street games and scenes. This marvellous world of light, music and dance will be conducted by Beatriz Fernández, former assistant conductor of the Barcelona Symphonic Band, who recently won an award at Paris’s La Maestra competition. It will also feature an awe-inspiring and colourful stage set by Marta Pazos that will take us into the universe of childhood.
