Tunnel pres. Butch
By Kit Macdonald
Tunnel bills itself as "a new party at the iconic Sala Bikini … techno and house-driven sounds within an industrial environment. A unity between abnormality and elegance in a futuristic atmosphere". With a relentless weekly schedule and recent guests that have included Jasper James, Ame and Eats Everything, it should be worth keeping an eye on for fans of a certain brand of luxuriant, down-the-line club music. This week headlining duties fell to Butch, pictured, a techno and house DJ and producer of many years' standing. Real name Bülent Gürler, Butch has Turkish roots, was born and raised in Mainz, and now lives between Ibiza and Dubai, from where he maintains a prolific schedule of gigs and record releases.
Also on the bill is a b2b set from two Tunnel residents: the Swiss-born Alice Youngling, whose many Barcelona bookings are increasingly being joined by slots outside Spain, and Dadame. Another resident, Dafunkas, completes the bill. Unusually for a party with international guests, free tickets are available if you enter before 1.30am, and early-bird tickets are still available at the time of writing for entry after 1.30am for €10. All tickets, including the free ones, can be booked via Resident Advisor.
