Spencer Doran and Ryan Carlile's beloved Visible Cloaks project emerged from Doran's fascination with the Japanese ambient, new age and electronic music of the 1980s and 90s. Their work flips those influences into a weightless blend of synthesised textures, processed voices, woodwind-like tones and subtly shifting rhythms.

Their 2017 album Reassemblage established the pair internationally, and subsequent collaborations with Japanese pioneers Yoshio Ojima and Satsuki Shibano expanded their dialogue between technology and acoustic sound. After a nine-year hiatus, they returned this year with Paradessence, a luminous 14-track album that "transforms silence, digital synthesis and acoustic instruments into a constantly mutating sonic organism, where each listen reveals new forms and textures". Doors are at 8.30pm and Visible Cloaks are onstage at 9pm, tickets from Dice.
