Voices of The Pacific
By Charlotte Stace

Step into an immersive journey across the Pacific with the exhibition Voices of The Pacific. Innovation and Tradition. It brings together more than 200 historic and contemporary objects from cultures across Oceania - from Hawaiʻi to New Zealand, and from Rapa Nui to Papua New Guinea. These artefacts range from carved basalt figures and ceremonial paddles to intricate fabrics and navigational models, all bearing witness to centuries of creativity and connection to the sea.
The exhibit is structured around seven thematic zones: Innovation & Tradition, Weavers, Dancers, Warriors, Carvers, Travellers and Innovators. Each reveals how Pacific cultures have continually reimagined their world through material culture, migration and encounters.
Whether you’re drawn to bold carving, textile finesse, sea-faring ingenuity or contemporary indigenous voices, the exhibition invites you to rethink the Pacific as both ancient terrain and forward-looking frontier.
