The Volta Ciclista a Catalunya is one of the most prestigious and historic cycling races in the world. Established in 1911, it is the fourth oldest stage race, following the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia and Vuelta a España. Held in Catalunya, it attracts the best riders and teams from across the world.
The 104th edition features seven grueling stages, beginning in Sant Feliu de Guíxols and ending in Barcelona. Riders will face a variety of terrains, including high-mountain stages in La Molina, Montserrat and Queralt. The race also includes fast-paced flat and rolling stages, making it a true test of versatility and endurance.
As a UCI World Tour event, the race attracts top teams, featuring some of the sport’s biggest names. Past winners include cycling legends like Miguel Induráin, Alejandro Valverde and Nairo Quintana. If you want to follow along on TV or meet the cyclists as they cross the finish line, then get this date in your diary.
