Whether Amsterdam's Marco Sterk is making house, techno, Italo-disco, trance, ambient or any of countless other electronic music styles, an uplifting, heartfelt generosity is always at the heart of it.
Heavily associated with top-tier labels such as Dekmantel, ESP Institute and Rush Hour, he also runs his own Safe Trip imprint, which has acquired a reputation for unearthing and releasing the work of a steady stream of bright new producers. Safe Trip also released Young Marco's touchstone Welcome To Paradise compilations, which lovingly gathered together an array of obscure, brilliant Italian dream-house gems over three beautifully packaged volumes. More recently, Sterk scored a hit with the single What You Say?, which pivots on a vocal sample of Imogen Heap's Hide and Seek.
His DJ sets embody the same smooth, enveloping funk as his own tracks and remixes, and this set will be the best kind of winter warmer.
