After years of looking after other people’s hair, Pep has given his salon a new look too. Olmos, which began life as Biyooin in Gràcia in 2008, now occupies a third-floor apartment on Avinguda Diagonal, near Casa de les Punxes. Heading upstairs feels a little like visiting a friend. The coffee helps, as does a consultation where you can talk through what you have in mind.

The interior is Pep’s own work. An interest in design led him to study the subject during the pandemic, and the salon became an opportunity to put that training into practice. Music, interiors and hairdressing are the three ingredients he brings together here – a personal touch for a place where he spends his working day. It gives the apartment a role beyond just housing the salon: the surroundings are part of what he wants you to enjoy.

His training in cutting and color came through work at established Barcelona salons, alongside courses with international hairdressing brands. The services cover women’s and men’s cuts, color, highlights, toning and keratin treatments, with the choice worked out around the style you’re after.
