Balthvs
By Charlotte Stace

BALTHVS, the Bogotá-based psychedelic funk trio, brings their blend of instrumental funk, cumbia, Anatolian rock, and surf to Barcelona. Although hailing from Colombia, their music occupies a sort of “non-place”, drifting effortlessly across borders and echoing the spirit of Texas, Istanbul, Almería and Bangkok.
Formed in 2020, they've quickly become Colombia’s most popular alternative act. Often likened to Khruangbin, Los Bitchos, and Altın Gün, injust a few years, they’ve sold over 10,000 vinyls, earned over 45 million streams on socials, and toured across three continents. Made up of Balthazar Aguirre (guitar, vocals), Johanna Mercuriana (bass, vocals), and Santiago Lizcano (drums, vocals), their music is as exotic as it is groovy.
They’re now back on tour to promote their latest album, Flesh and Soul (2025). Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-time listener, this is a band well worth discovering live.
