Black Music Festival 2024
By Charlotte Stace
Now in its 22nd edition, Barcelona’s hotly anticipated Black Music Festival is back for a brand spanking new edition. Celebrating Afro-American music around the world, this is one of the city’s best musical events of the year.
Running across six weeks, the festival will feature an impressive lineup of major national and international artists in black music. It will kick off at Sala Apolo in Barcelona with a performance from Swatkins on February 8th and will run through to the end of March. Some of this year’s highlights include Scary Pockets (February 8th), Seckou Keita & Momi Maiga (February 17th), Errol Linton (February 23rd), Catherine Russell (March 8th), and Bigblack Rhino (March 22nd).
As in previous years, the festival will be split across a number of venues not only in Barcelona but across Catalunya, with a number of performances held especially in Girona this year.
