There’s been a surge of interest in and respect for Afrobeat in Barcelona over the last few years, and there aren’t many better ambassadors for the Afrobeat sound than Dele Sosimi.
This month he’s bringing his Afrobeat Orchestra to Marula Café to continue his mission to educate and entertain followers and newcomers alike. Fans of Fela Kuti and his son Femi Kuti will know Dele from his time playing keyboards with the Afrobeat legends, and his work on their albums. He’s a legend in own right, too, and has traveled all over the world with his orchestra, spreading the Afrobeat gospel. Not content with that, he’s educated music and media students at the London Metropolitan University in his role as a visiting lecturer.
The small but perfectly formed Marula Café should be the ideal intimate setting to get up close and get immersed in the joyful sounds he and his orchestra will bring. Prepare to be educated.
