Fira de Santa Llúcia 2022
By Charlotte Stace
It’s that time of year again! La Fira de Santa Llúcia - Barcelona’s oldest christmas market - is back. As per usual, more than 190 stands will line the pavements in the scenic shadow of the Gothic Catedral de Barcelona, selling a festive assortment of arts & crafts and decorations.
The fair, which has been running annually since 1786, will be split into four different craft sections. Firstly, you’ll be able to find nativity scenes and figures, with accessories, figures, Christmas lights, baubles, candles and decorations for the home. Secondly, there’ll be a selection of natural and artificial trees, as well as mistletoe, eucalyptus branches and the like. Thirdly, they’ll be a range of handicrafts, where you’ll be able to search for all kinds of handmade products, such as clothes, jewellery, and gift items. Finally, there will be a section for traditional Catalan, locally-made, Christmas instruments such as tambourines and drums.
The fair will be open every day from 10am to 9pm. We’ll see you there.
