In Her Gestures
By Charlotte Stace
In Her Gestures is the first major solo exhibition in Europe by Barcelona-based artist Tamara Kostochko, bringing together 18 paintings and four graphic works at NauART. Exploring the relationship between our inner lives and the way we express ourselves physically, her work uses the human body, facial expressions and gestures to communicate emotions that aren't always easy to put into words.
Across Kostochko’s work, female figures appear alongside abstract forms and botanical elements, with soft pastel textures and layered colours giving the paintings a dreamlike quality. She’s particularly interested in the female experience, exploring themes of strength, identity, self-expression and the freedom to shape our own lives.
The opening offers an opportunity to meet the artist and explore her work and admission to the gallery is free making it the perfect opportunity to discover a contemporary artist working in Barcelona. Just make sure to register before joining for the opening night.
