JP Harris
By Charlotte Stace

JP Harris & The Tough Choices perform at Razzmatazz this week. A proper American country music experience, Harris is known for his gritty, roots-driven style. He’s been heavily influenced by some of America’s biggest honky-tonk music stars, from legends like Merle Haggard and George Jones, to the Carter Family.
Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, Harris left school early and travelled across the US working various jobs to support himself. Initially, he was influenced by the punk rock scene before ultimately evolving into traditional country and folk. Eventually settling in Nashville, he’s built an incredible two-decades long career, releasing several acclaimed country albums.
His most recent record, JP Harris Is A Trash Fire (2024), features collaborations with artists such as Erin Rae and The Watson Twins and blends punk, folk and outlaw country. Tickets cost 20 Euros. Doors open at 8pm.
