La Paloma presenta Lindstrom
By Kit Macdonald
This night at Raval's famous old ballroom La Paloma should be festive in every sense of the word, with an all-Scandinavian lineup ready to get you through the longest night of the year in style with their thoroughly warming space-disco, cosmic house and Balearic beats. Lindstrom and Prins Thomas came up together in Oslo around 20 years ago and pioneered Norway's cosmic disco sound via their own productions and remixes, which blend the best of disco, house and krautrock with atmospheric synths to create a lush, expansive sound, and Prins Thomas's Full Pupp label, which has been quiet lately but racked up 120 or so releases from 2004 to 2022.
Playing live are the Barcelona-based Swedish duo MLiR (Modern Life is Rubbish), whose long-awaited debut album on the legendary Stockholm imprint Studio Barnhus perfectly encapsulated the groove-laden hardware jams they're been working on and playing live for many years now.
