Explore the lives and works of two of history’s most iconic artists at the exhibition, Leonardo versus Michelangelo. Held at IDEAL, it invites us to delve into the legendary rivalry between Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti, offering insights into both their creative genius and contrasting styles.
The exhibition is inspired by the historical challenge that took place in 1503, when each of these Renaissance geniuses was commissioned to paint a battle scene mural in the Hall of the Five Hundred of Florence’s Old Palace. Unfortunately, the murals were never finished, but the preparatory sketches survived, and were studied by the future generation of artists of the High Renaissance.
Spanning multiple spaces, the experience features large-scale projections, 360-degree virtual reality, and metaverse environments. You’ll journey through eight immersive rooms, each highlighting different aspects of the artists’ work and lives.
