Russian singer-songwriter Monetochka brings her Fairytale Tour to Razzmatazz this month. Born Elizaveta Gyrdymova in Yekaterinburg, the singer first gained attention as a teenager sharing her poetry online.

Her musical journey began seriously in 2016, when she released her first album Psychedelic Cloud Rap on the social network VKontakte. It quickly gained traction, partly for its wit, its mix of naïve charm and satirical takes on culture. But, it was her 2018 breakthrough album Coloring for Adults that established her as one of Russia’s most distinctive young voices, blending satire with indie pop.

In recent years, Monetochka has become equally known for her outspoken political stance. Living in exile since 2022, she continues to write and perform with disarming honesty, transforming irony and activism into captivating music.
