Primavera Club
By Aimee Lawrence
Barcelona is adding fuel to its reputation as a port of music discovery this week with another edition of Primavera Club. From Friday the 26th through to Sunday the 28th, critically-minded music heads will have over 40 acts to sound check. Electronic beats, jazz soundscapes, pop choruses, Turkish psychedelic tonic, cosmic punk, UK rap and Japanese techno gives you an idea of just how positively diverse the weekend is set to be in terms of genre, origin and style.
No excuses if you’re not rolling into Monday with a hotshot selection of new favorites to plug into your earphones. Taking over the Poble Sec neighbourhood, with chosen venues being legendary haunt Apolo and Centre Cultural Albareda, you’ll be pushed to select wisely and go with your curious intuition from a program that includes the likes of Boy Pablo, Derby Motoreta’s Burrito Kachimba, Habibi Funk, Louder Than Death, Crumb, Slowthai and Snail Mail, among many more.
Be sure to check out the full program online and earmark those that intrigue you.
