British band The Wave Pictures returns to Razzmatazz. Musically, they sit in a sweet spot between ’60s garage, ’70s classic rock, and ’90s US indie, all tied together with a DIY spirit. Their story started in Leicestershire, England: Dave Tattersall and bassist Franic Rozycki began in 1998 (originally as Blind Summit), before locking in drummer Jonny “Huddersfield” Helm who became a permanent member in the early 2000s.

Since then, they’ve built a prolific catalogue and a tight-knit “musicians’ favourite band” reputation - collaborating widely (including with Billy Childish) while staying unmistakably themselves. The Guardian has described their work as "charming, witty pop songs shot through with Jonathan Richman's gawky glee and Suede's doomed provincial romanticism...They owe a certain debt to The Smiths, and Tattersall has Morrissey's knack of marrying the ridiculous and the sublime."

Doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets cost 24 Euros.
