Zeta were formed way back in 2003 in Lecheria, on Venezuela's Caribbean coast, and since then they've been developing a fascinating and potent sound that brings together post-rock, punk, psychedelia and Afro-Caribbean percussion to frequently glorious effect. Their music can be both crushingly heavy and remarkably fluid, with dense polyrhythms and intricate drumming providing a restless pulse beneath waves of atmospheric guitar.

The band are unsurprisingly no longer based in their deeply troubled home country, and instead call South Florida home these days. They have become a formidable touring band over more than 1,500 live shows. Releases such as Mochima, Magia Infinita and 2024’s VII Magia Infinita and Todo Bailarlo have deepened their engagement with Venezuelan musical traditions and have found them incorporating cumbia, salsa, calypso and bossa nova into their already hugely textured sound. This is a great chance to see a particularly distinctive and exciting force on the contemporary Latin American experimental rock scene.
