MOB Bailèn
By Thomas Macaulay

The Tisaire brothers opened Makers of Barcelona on Bailèn in 2011, soon after the financial crisis. Their converted textile factory had more than 100 desks across two large open areas, with workshops, a gallery and a maker space. MOB describes it as Barcelona’s first coworking space. Still the flagship, MOB Bailèn stands near Arc de Triomf in the Dreta de l’Eixample; CEO Albert Tisaire now heads a group with two other spaces, MOB Caterina in the Born and MOB Sants.
The Bailèn space has three meeting rooms and modular areas for events, and pets are welcome. Desks come with a day pass or a flexible or fixed membership; fixed-desk members have access around the clock. MOB also rents private offices and offers virtual memberships. The space managers organize breakfast together once a week and drinks on Fridays.
Since 2024, coworkers have shared BarBailèn with their neighbors. The café serves coffee and local food, with afternoon drinks for tardeo.
