From Gaudí’s Modernista masterpieces to Jean Nouvel’s soaring Torre Agbar, Barcelona is celebrated for its remarkable architecture. Normally, many of the city’s architectural gems remain closed to the public. But for 48 hours in October, over 150 buildings welcome visitors during 48h Open House Barcelona, including standout sites such as the Arc de Triomf, El Molino, and the Almogàvers Business Factory.
The program spans guided tours, open houses, workshops and special sections such as Open Cuina, Open Petits, and Open Pro, catering to both families and architecture professionals. Alongside physical visits, you’ll be able to take part in creative contests like Open Foto, Opengram, and Opensketch, extending the festival’s reach into social media.
Visitors register on the day at the building they hope to enter. But be warned - tens of thousands of people attend. So make sure to check out the program in advance and get to where you want to visit early. The splendors within will make it all worthwhile.
