CCCB hosts A World Without a Centre, an evening with Kiran Desai that looks into what it means to live between places, languages and versions of yourself. Framed around migration and the Indian diaspora, the conversation looks at the quiet, intimate fallout of movement: loneliness, culture shock, and the feeling that “home” keeps shifting.

Desai’s starting point is her latest novel, “The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny”, which follows two young people from India sent to the United States in search of upward mobility, only to find identity and belonging harder to hold than expected.

Presented by Ada Castells, the talk also widens out to the forces behind these personal stories: globalization’s invisible pressures, and how they shape our most private choices. Thoughtful, timely, and quietly sharp.
