The Japanese author, naturalist and former J-pop music producer Daisuke Yosumi moved from Tokyo to rural New Zealand in 2010 to live a life that has been a resounding affirmative answer to the question: what if a freer, richer life doesn’t come from gaining more, but from letting go? From his sustainable lakeside home he has published close to a dozen books in Japan, many of them bestsellers, and his latest, Let Go: 50 Lessons from Japanese Minimalism to Set You Free, is set for publication in 23 countries.

In this talk, Yosumi will share practical ideas from Japanese minimalism rooted in his own experiences. "From money and time to habits and relationships, he explores how letting go can help you simplify your life and focus on what truly matters. This goes beyond decluttering. It is a life strategy for finding freedom in an overwhelming world." The event runs from 6pm to 7.30pm at Backstory on Carrer de Mallorca, RSVP to attend.
