BCNegra 2026
By Charlotte Stace

Barcelona’s BCNegra returns with a love letter to the good kind of “malavida”: nights stolen from sleep, taberna music, curiosity, desire, the sense of living intensely, and reading like one life isn’t enough. It’s noir as a state of mind, not just a genre, with crime fiction used to talk about freedom, society and everything that lurks in the shadows.
Curated by novelist Carlos Zanón, the festival gathers a lineup of writers and voices from across the noir world. Expect big names and sharp perspectives from authors including Richard Price, Dominique Manotti, Mick Herron, Claudia Piñeiro, S. A. Cosby, Jordan Harper and Núria Cadenes, amongst many others.
BCNegra 2026 also goes beyond books, weaving in film, talks and cultural events that keep the atmosphere interesting. It’s the kind of festival where you come for the crime stories and leave thinking about the city, the world, and your own appetite for a little “malavida.”
