Launched in 2018, the CCCB’s Biennial of Thought was developed with a view to creating a space for debating the role of cities in the challenges facing contemporary society. While it offers a celebration of ‘the city’, it also provides a space for critique and invites a range of thinkers with differing views to participate in the debate.

Now, in this fourth Biennial of Thought, the CCCB invites some outstanding speakers to Barcelona to discuss a plethora of issues. This year’s speakers include Herta Müller, Wajdi Mouawad, Clara Serra, Zadie Smith, Oyèrónké Oyewùmí, Georgi Gospodinov, Corine Pelluchon, Eliane Brum, Audrey Diwan and Tarta Relena.

Under the title of “The Day After It All”, the event will fill Barcelona’s cultural spaces with talks, lectures, live podcasts and theatrical activities to address themes a whole variety of themes such as: democracy, memory, feminism, postcolonialism, technological and climatic changes, and big cultural debates.
