BioDiverCuitat 2025
By Charlotte Stace

BioDiverCiutat returns to Barcelona this week as part of the global City Nature Challenge, a competition between cities worldwide to record the highest number of observations of urban wildlife in just four days.
Organised by the Institute of Marine Sciences (ICM-CSIC), this initiative invites everyone - from experts to curious locals - to explore and document wild flora and fauna across the city. Participants contribute their findings via the MINKA platform, where the data is stored openly to support biodiversity research, environmental management and public knowledge.
Whether you're a nature enthusiast or just looking for a new way to engage with our city’s green spaces, this is your chance to get involved in a global movement that makes a difference. Sign up online, grab your phone or camera, and spend four inspiring days discovering the often-overlooked wild side of the city.
