Bivac 2026
By Charlotte Stace

Who decides what is waste? What might emerge from remains? How can we create something new from the unwanted or rejected? Bivac, the CCCB’s festival of young thought, aims to answer these types of questions. Curated by ten people aged 18 to 25, this year’s edition, Prêt-à-rester: Heirs of Leftovers, asks what happens to the things - material, emotional or political - that refuse to disappear.
The evening brings conversations, performance, dance, video and installation. Pol Crosas opens with My Head is a Waste Tip, while Carla Girolamo and Paula G. Vila transform inherited objects and urban debris into a surreal dinner table. Later, Lluís Garau and Lucas Altaba explore rejection through movement and sound, before the evening comes to an end in a collaborative “atlas of remainders”.
Tickets even include a drink and two pintxos, because existential questions are easier to tackle with snacks.
