Catalan book week 2026

La Setmana del Llibre en Català returns as the great autumn gathering for Catalan-language books. It’s part literary fair, part festival, and it offers the perfect chance to discover what publishers are putting out this year. It brings readers, writers, editors, bookshops and publishers together in one big celebration of Catalan literature.
The 2026 edition is the 44th La Setmana and comes with the slogan “Lots to see and lots to read,” featuring 11 spaces and more than 350 activities. Across the week, there’ll be book launches, author conversations, signings, poetry readings, family events, book clubs, podcasts, literary tours and more dedicated to everything from new fiction and essays to children’s books, translation and illustration.
They say that one of the best ways to pick up a language is through reading. So, if you’d like to brush up on your Catalan, this event offers the perfect chance to explore and buy a range of books in this language.
