Challenge Barcelona Triathlon 2026
By Charlotte Stace

Barcelona’s biggest triathlon weekend is back, bringing thousands of athletes together for a test of swimming, cycling and running. More than 3,400 participants have already signed up this year, so it gives the rest of us the perfect excuse to line the route, cheer on participants and feel athletic by association.
If you’re not content with just watching from the sidelines, there may still be time to join in. The Sprint and Olympic distances are sold out, but there are a handful of places remaining for the Middle Distance, Junior Challenge, Aquathlon and Open Water races. The Middle Distance alone involves a 1.9km swim, 88km cycle and 21km run.
Not racing? Grab a coffee, head to the seafront and cheer on those taking part. There’s something infectious about watching people take part in these sorts of challenges and, who knows, it may encourage you to sign up next year.
